use another computer to burn an installation disk and erase the disk and reinstall Windows. Or dick around with Hiren’s Boot CD so you can reset the password

Step 1: Download Windows 7 Home Premium.
Step 2: Ask me for a product key. (Don’t ask how I got them, I have like 100)

On the motherboard there is a little switch that can only be accessed by a Dremel with a cutting bit running at high speed.

Every one I know who did the 10 upgrade to a computer with 7 had nothing but problems. Seems to be good on a new machine, bit apparently as a patch it leaves a bit to be desired....

Sewrch for “windows vista reset lost password”. I thino you need installation media to follow the steps though. I’m about to try this for Windows 7.

Fiiiiiine lol. So I’ve done tech support for a number of companies. My first tech job decided to retire their Windows 7 refurb computers in favour for some brand new ones that had Windows 8 on them. While doing this they also decided to get rid of their drawer full of Windows 7 DVDs...and they gave them all to me. I have enough copies of Windows 7 to last me until I die, or Microsoft stops accepting new installs lol.

don’t reinstall, this thing takes a few minutes and will reset it for you: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

Yeah but then you’re still left with someone else’s Vista installation junked up with all of their programs, all of their files, all of their registry issues caused by regular use, etc. In the end it’s best to just reinstall and have a fresh computer instead of putting perfume on a hobo.

Reinstall Windows.
(Rule #1 of used computers: Don’t use the Windows that shipped on them. You don’t know what malware the previous owner had on there.)

That’s awesome actually. Recently I have resorted to cracking Windows when I need it, currently I’m using a Mac, haha.
